Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) has launched a Mosquito Killing Week to prevent mosquito-borne diseases and maintain a healthy campus environment.
KUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Masud inaugurated the Mosquito Killing Week 2026 on Thursday.
Speaking at the inauguration, the vice-chancellor stressed the importance of regular mosquito control and cleanliness drives alongside greater awareness and responsible participation by teachers, officials, employees and students.
He urged everyone to work together to keep the campus clean and destroy mosquito breeding grounds.
The campaign will continue from September 17 to 23, covering residential halls, academic and administrative buildings, roads, drains, waterlogged areas and other parts of the campus.
The university said the initiative would strengthen mosquito control measures and help maintain a clean and healthy campus environment.
Prof Dr Mohammad Abu Yusuf, chairman of the university’s Security Committee and dean of the Faculty of Science and Humanities, also spoke at the program.
Deans of various faculties, institute directors, the acting registrar, heads of departments, directors, branch heads, teachers, officials and employees attended the event.
