A total of 334 dengue patients were hospitalized across Khulna division in the past 24 hours, the highest number of daily patients recorded so far this year.
The information was disclosed in the report issued by the Office of the Divisional Director of Health on Sunday.
According to the report, 7,143 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the division between January 1 and September 6. Of them, 21 have died, while 6,112 have recovered and been discharged. Currently, 885 patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals, while 165 patients have so far been referred elsewhere.
Divisional Health Director Dr Sheikh Md Mosharraf Hossain said 287 of the 334 newly admitted patients were admitted to government hospitals, while 47 were admitted to private facilities.
District-wise data showed that 164 dengue patients were admitted in Khulna in the past 24 hours. Of them, 117 were admitted to government hospitals and 47 to private hospitals. Another 45 patients were admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
Besides, 19 new patients were admitted in Bagerhat, 37 in Jessore, 16 in Jhenaidah, nine in Satkhira, six at Satkhira Medical College Hospital, 14 in Magura, nine in Kushtia, two in Meherpur, six in Narail and seven in Chuadanga.
