More than 50 workers of Color & Company Ltd suddenly fell ill in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur on Tuesday, triggering panic among employees and prompting emergency medical treatment.

The incident occurred around 10:00 am in the sewing section on the factory's fifth floor at Tepirbari under Telihati union. According to workers, a female employee first collapsed after experiencing dizziness. Within minutes, several others complained of dizziness, vomiting, and stomach pain, with some fainting on the production floor.

The situation sparked panic among workers, many of whom rushed to the factory's assembly point. Several sustained minor injuries during the hurried evacuation.

Workers said the incident took place on the same floor where a 36-year-old female worker died in June, leading to a peaceful protest by employees on June 25. They said the cause of Tuesday's mass illness remains unclear.

Factory administrative officer Sanjib Kumar Dey said the affected workers were immediately taken to Al Hera Hospital at Mawna Chourasta for treatment. He added that the factory did not officially declare a holiday and that workers left voluntarily.

Hospital authorities said more than 50 workers, most of them women, were treated for dizziness, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Police and local administration officials said they responded promptly and ensured necessary medical assistance for the affected workers.
