A budget of Tk 51,12,87,756 has been announced for Jamalpur Municipality for the 2026–27 fiscal year, while total expenditure is estimated at Tk 49,11,36,552 . No new taxes have been proposed.
The budget was unveiled at a press conference at the municipality office on Monday. Administrator Mousumi Khanam said the proposal was prepared based on existing revenue and expenditure trends and aims to accelerate local development activities.
Projected revenue income for the fiscal year stands at Tk 21,12,35,545 , with expenditure estimated at Tk 19,20,27,000 . The water supply branch is expected to generate Tk 51,92,609 in income, against an expenditure of Tk 50,74,500 .
Under development and government-assisted projects, income is projected at Tk 29,48,59,599 , with expenditure of Tk 29,40,35,052 . This includes ADP-funded initiatives, urban infrastructure development projects, healthcare assistance, and COVID-19 response and recovery programmes.
Officials said the budget prioritises infrastructure expansion and improved service delivery across key sectors, expressing hope that effective implementation will strengthen civic facilities and support sustainable urban development in the coming fiscal year.
