Former Member of Parliament Laila Parveen Sejuti has been shown arrested in a murder case filed with Satkhira Sadar Police Station, despite previously securing High Court bail in three separate cases related to arson, vandalism, looting, and alleged violations of the Special Powers Act.

The order was issued on Sunday by the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Bilash Mondal following an application from the case’s investigating officer. Sejuti was initially arrested from her residence in Satkhira town on May 20, 2025, and was later shown arrested in multiple criminal cases before being sent to jail.

Her lawyer, Advocate Al Mahamud, said she was shown arrested in the latest case before her release could be executed. A subsequent bail petition was rejected, and the court ordered her to remain in judicial custody.
