Rear Admiral Arif Ahmed Mostafa takes charge as chairman of Mongla Port

Acting Chairman Commodore hands over responsibilities to the newly appointed chairman at Mongla Port

Rear Admiral Arif Ahmed Mostafa assumed office as the Chairman of the Mongla Port Authority on Sunday, succeeding Rear Admiral Shaheen Rahman. 

The formal handover ceremony took place at Mongla Port, where Acting Chairman Commodore Md. Shafiqul Islam Sarkar transferred responsibilities to the newly appointed chairman.

Prior to joining Mongla Port Authority, Rear Admiral Mostafa served as Chairman of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA). 

Following his appointment, he held an exchange meeting with port members, departmental heads, senior officials, representatives of the Officers’ Association, and members of the CBA ad hoc committee.

A Bangladesh Navy officer since 1990, Rear Admiral Mostafa was commissioned in the Executive Branch in 1992 and brings over three decades of leadership and maritime experience to his new role.
