Cleaners and master-roll employees of the Comilla City Corporation (CCC) have received Eid gifts from the Prime Minister ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
Tk 41.6 lakh was distributed among 832 workers at an event held at the Comilla Central Eidgah ground on Monday. Each worker received Tk 5,000 in financial assistance.
CCC Administrator Yusuf Molla Tipu attended the program as chief guest and formally handed over the Eid assistance. He said the prime minister has extended the gift to workers engaged in maintaining city cleanliness.
He also announced that CCC has set a target to remove sacrificial animal waste within 8 hours of Eid, improving on the government’s 10-hour guideline.
He urged citizens to place sacrificial waste at designated spots to ensure quick disposal, stressing that a clean city requires cooperation from both authorities and residents.
Cleaner Abul Hasan expressed gratitude, saying such Eid gifts were not received in the past but have now been provided during both Eid festivals under the current administration.
Senior officials, including the chief executive officer and engineers, were also present at the program.
