Thousands of leaders and activists of the BNP and its associate bodies gathered along the Dhaka–Chittagong highway to welcome Prime Minister Tarique Rahman as he travelled by road from Dhaka to Chandpur on Saturday.
At around 11am, party leaders and activists, along with members of the public, were seen waiting in Munshiganj to greet the prime minister.
Leaders and activists took positions at several points in Gazaria upazila of Munshiganj to welcome Tarique Rahman, who is also the party chief and prime minister. During the time, they stood on both sides of the highway chanting slogans.
The prime minister waved at the waiting supporters from his vehicle.
