Out of 203 polling centres in Khagrachhari district, 185 have been identified as risky, including 63 classified as “high-risk,” district election officials said on Tuesday.
District Election Officer SM Shahadat Hossain said the centres were categorised by the Police Special Branch (DSB) into three groups: general, risky and high-risk.
According to the Khagrachhari District Election Office, the district has a total of 554,114 voters for the 13th national parliamentary election. Of them, 280,206 are male and 273,904 female, while four voters identify as third gender.
Khagrachhari Superintendent of Police Saem Mirza Saem Mahmud said certain centres were considered risky due to geographical conditions and the presence of candidates’ strongholds.
