A 47-year-old man, Nishi Kundu, died after falling under a train while attempting to board it at Santahar in Adamdighi, Bogra. The incident occurred on Friday evening around 7:30 pm at Platform 3 of Santahar Junction Station. Following identification, the body was handed over to his family on Saturday afternoon.
SI Mahfuzur Rahman of Santahar Railway Police Station confirmed the incident. According to police and eyewitnesses, the deceased, Nishi Kundu, was the son of the late Hari Kundu of Kundupara, Joypurhat Municipality, and had been suffering from mental illness.
Mahfuzur Rahman added that Nishi Kundu’s brother and sister identified the body on Saturday afternoon, after which it was handed over to them. An unnatural death case has been filed at Santahar Railway Police Station in connection with the incident.
