Notably, the Dhaka-Tangail-Jamuna Bridge highway is the second-largest highway in the country.
Vehicles from 24 districts of the north and south use this highway.
Every year, heavy traffic congestion occurs on this highway due to increased pressure during Eid.
Meanwhile, toll collection on this bridge has been ongoing since its opening in 1998.
Previously, the tolls were collected by Computer Network Systems (CNS).
However, since the end of 2024, following a change in government, the responsibility has been handed over to China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC).
