Four people, including two women, were killed and several others injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a pickup van on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj early on Friday.
The identities of the deceased were not immediately known.
The victims were travelling in the pickup, which was carrying passengers along with household furniture, according to Abdullah Al Mamun, officer-in-charge of Madhabpur police station.
At least five others were seriously injured and taken to a local hospital.
The truck and pickup had been seized by the Highway Police, Mamun added.
The bodies had been sent to Habiganj Sadar Hospital, the OC said, adding that efforts were underway to identify the victims.
