A fire broke out at a garment factory in the industrial area of Ashulia, Dhaka, injuring five workers.
The incident occurred at Tanzila Textile Limited in the Baroipara area of Ashulia around 10am on Wednesday.
Upon receiving the news, two units from the DEPZ Fire Station rushed to the scene and brought the fire under control within 30 minutes.
The identities of the injured have not yet been confirmed.
According to the fire service, the blaze originated from a burn in the stander machine on the factory’s finishing floor. The two fire service units managed to contain the fire after a 30-minute effort.
Senior Station Officer Pranab Chowdhury of DEPZ Fire Station said: “The cause of the fire is a burn in the stander machine on the finishing floor. Five people were injured in the incident, with two reported to be in critical condition.”
He added: “The injured have been admitted to various hospitals. The extent of the damage has not yet been determined.”
