A reported rape on a moving bus named Unique Road Royals travelling from Dhaka to Rajshahi on the night of February 17 is untrue, according the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Faisal Hasan, director (Public Relations) of the Ministry of Home Affairs, shared this information in a press release on Tuesday.
The press release said the information was obtained by analyzing a video clip from the superintendent of police in Tangail, which contains a statement from a female passenger of the bus.
"In the video clip, a female passenger can be seen saying: "A robbery took place on the bus, but no rape incident occurred.'"
The video shows the female passenger presenting her statement, it added.
