Jagannath University (JnU) Human Rights Society organized a human chain in protest of the terrorist attack on students of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (Kuet).

The protest took place on Wednesday at 1:30pm at the Shanto Chattar premises of the university.

Leaders and activists of the organization addressed the gathering during the event.

JnU Human Rights Society’s general secretary, Junaid Masud, said: "We strongly condemn and protest the attack on students. A safe and student politics-free campus is a fundamental right of students. They were brutally attacked simply for voicing this right, which is a severe violation of human rights."

Office Secretary Kamruzzaman Kayes said: "No one has the right or legal authority to attack someone based on a tag. However, in Bangladesh, tagging has been legitimized under fascist regimes. Abrar bhai was martyred through such tagging. We demand that campuses be made safe for students."

Member of the organization, Naushin Nawar Joya, said: "Perhaps we are forgetting August 5. We achieved victory against fascism, giving us the opportunity to build a new Bangladesh, ensure safe campuses for students, and uphold their rights. However, the current incidents go against our aspirations. The attack on Kuet students deeply saddens us."
