Schoolboy missing for 23 days, locals vandalise Sirajdikhan police station

Local residents have vandalized the Sirajdikhan police station, alleging police inaction in tracing the missing person

Local people on Wednesday vandalised Sirajdikhan police station alleging police inaction to trace a schoolboy who has been missing for nearly 23 days.

Sirajdikhan Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shahina Akter said Roman Sheikh, a class IX student of Thoirgaon village went missing on January 21.

Expressing anger over the police's inaction, locals including students formed a human chain at the Sirajdikhan upazila intersection around 11am.

At one stage, local people stormed into Sirajdikhan police station in the afternoon and carried out vandalism there.

They also vandalised vehicles parked in front of the police station.

On information, police and army personnel rushed to the scene.
