A group of miscreants on Monday evening attempted to attack Madhabdi police station in Narsingdi.
According to reports, the group tried to break the station gate to gain entry. Failing to do so, they hurled bricks and stones from outside.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear.
Additional Superintendent of Police Kalim Ullah said four local robbers had been arrested in operations conducted in Narsingdi and surrounding areas since Sunday.
Additionally, earlier in the day, a dispute had occurred between Madhabdi police and locals over the operation of unregistered motorcycles.
It is initially suspected that the attack may be linked to one of these incidents.
Meanwhile, several attackers have been identified, but the police refrained from disclosing their identities due to the ongoing investigation.
