Three farm labourers were killed and five others injured when a truck collided with a stationary three-wheeler locally known as Korimon in Santhia upazila of Pabna early on Friday.
The deceased were Khokon Hossain, 27, Dhoni Pramanik, 50, and Russel Hossain, 27.
The injured were rescued and admitted to Santhia Upazila Health Complex and other local facilities for treatment.
Santhia police station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Latif said the farm labourers were preparing to travel to another area for onion planting when the Santhia-bound goods truck rammed into the Korimon vehicle parked by the roadside, leaving three of them dead on the spot.
He said the truck involved in the accident had been seized, but the driver and his assistant had managed to flee, adding that legal proceedings were underway.
