Through a fresher reception ceremony on Thursday, Islami Chhatra Shibir has publicly emerged at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU).
The organization's NSTU unit hosted the event at a convention hall in Maijdee town, welcoming 300 newly enrolled students for the 2023-24 academic year.
Reports indicate that this marks the first public activity of the NSTU Chhatra Shibir unit after operating covertly for 19 years since the university's establishment.
However, the names of the branch's president and secretary have not yet been disclosed.
The event's chief guest was Noman Hossain Noyon, a member of the Shibir Central Executive Council and president of the Comilla metropolitan unit, while Abu Sayeed Suman, president of the Noakhali town unit, was among the special guests.
The president of the Noakhali town unit said: “Student politics is prohibited in the university, so the committee will not openly operate for now. We plan to gradually become more visible based on the circumstances.”
