Police have recovered the body of Ali Hossain, an employee of Janata Bank in Dhaka, who went missing while swimming without a life jacket in the Tanguar Haor of Sunamganj.
On Friday, around noon, Ali Hossain arrived at Tanguar Haor in a houseboat near the Golabari Watch Tower area. He went swimming without a life jacket and drowned shortly after going down to the water.
Ali Hossain was an official at Janata Bank’s Corporate Branch in Dhaka.
According to police and locals, earlier in the morning, Ali Hossain, along with several other bank officials, had traveled to Tanguar Haor on a luxury houseboat from Sunamganj. Despite warnings, he went swimming without a life jacket and suddenly submerged. His body surfaced in the evening, and with the help of locals, the police recovered the body from the water.
Officer-in-charge of Tahirpur Police Station, Mohammad Delwar Hossain, confirmed the incident, stating that Ali Hossain drowned while swimming without a life jacket. His body was recovered in the evening with the assistance of local residents.
