Police rescued a teen from a hotel in Gazipur’s Tongi area on Tuesday after he remained missing for 70 days since August 5.
Family sources said that Jihad, 14, left the house along with his sister on August 5. Although the girl returned home, Jihad remained missing.
His father, Md Belal Hossain, filed a general diary in this regard with the Ashulia police station on August 18.
Jihad lives with his family in a rented house in Zirabo of Savar, police said, adding that he had left the house over a trifling matter and was looking for work in Tongi. Later, he was hired by a residential hotel in the area.
Alok Kumar Dey, in-charge of the National Martyrs' Monument police outpost in Savar, confirmed the matter. He said Jihad was handed over to the family after necessary legal proceedings.
