Former prime minister Sheikh Hasina has been sued in two more cases filed in Gazipur and Bogra.
In Bogra, the case has been filed against Awami League president and former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, party general secretary Obaidul Quader, and 340 others over the attempted murder and under Explosives Control Act.
Shahinur Islam, a coordinator of Shibganj upazila anti-discrimination student movement, filed the case with the court of Bogra Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Sukant Saha on Tuesday afternoon.
After the hearing, the court directed the OC of Shibganj police station to accept the FIR.
Abdul Wahab, the plaintiff's lawyer, gave this information.
So far, three cases have been against them in Bogra.
According to a court statement, on the afternoon of July 19, a rally of the anti-discrimination student movement was brought out in Shibganj Municipality's Sonatala Bank Chatter area. At that time, following orders of Sheikh Hasina and Obaidul Quader, the accused hurled crude bombs and fired indiscriminately in the procession. Many people who took part in the movement were injured in this attack.
Nazmul Islam of Kanpur village of Shibganj upazila was shot in the left hand and thigh. He is currently undergoing treatment at the National Orthopedic Hospital and Rehabilitation Institute in Dhaka.
Shibganj Police Station OC Abdur Rauf said on Wednesday afternoon that he had not received any court papers regarding the case.
“If I found, action will be taken as directed by the court.”
Meanwhile, another case has been filed against Sheikh Hasina in Gazipur in connection with the killing of Noor Alam, 22, during the anti-discrimination student movement.
Noor Alam's father Amir Ali filed the case as the plaintiff.
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Basan Station, Jahangir Alam, has confirmed this information.
The case names former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, along with Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, former Minister of Liberation War Affairs Advocate AKM Mozammel Haque, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former MP Simin Hossain Rimi, Meher Afroz Chumki, former State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Professor Rumana Ali Tusi, Advocate Azmat Ullah Khan, President of Gazipur Metropolitan Awami League, former Acting Mayor of Gazipur City Corporation Asadur Rahman Kiran, and Awami League leader Matiur Rahman Moti, among 135 named individuals.
Additionally, 100-130 unidentified individuals have also been included as defendants in the case.
In the case, Sheikh Hasina, Awami League’s general secretary Obaidul Quader, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, and six others have been made accused of giving an order to open fire and Gazipur city Awami League president Advocate Azmat Ullah Khan and former acting mayor of GCC Asadur Rahman Kiran, have been mentioned for associating them.
The case was registered with Basan police station on Tuesday night.
According to the case statement, the accused started firing indiscriminately targeting student rally around 9:45am on July 20. At around 10:30am, Noor Alam received a bullet in his right eye which exited from the back of his head, and died on the spot.
