Another case has been filed against the former member of parliament and former minister of Chandpur-3 Constituency Dipu Moni.
Nurul Islam Khan, the father of a student injured in the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, filed the case at the Chandpur Sadar Model police station, making her the main accused, on Tuesday evening.
Names of 224 people and 400 unidentified people have been accused in that case.
Dipu Moni's elder brother JR Wadud and former MP of Chandpur-1 Salim Mahmud were also accused.
Chandpur Model police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Mohsin Alam confirmed the information.
The OC said: “Those who are directly or indirectly involved in the violence surrounding the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Chandpur, have been made accused in the case. Two cases have been filed in Chandpur Sadar Model police station. Before this, in another case, 510 named persons including Dipu Moni and 1,200 unknown persons were accused. Dipu Moni is the main accused in both the cases. Her brother JR Wadud has been named second accused.”
However, Sheikh Mohsin Alam said that the rest of the accused escaped except Dipu Moni and said that they were accused of attacking the students of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in the bus stand area of Chandpur city on the evening of August 4. Many students were injured.
