The OC said: “Security was strengthened in the deputy commissioner's office, court premises and surrounding areas due to the protest. Additional police were deployed there. During that time the miscreants attacked and vandalized the police vehicles. Some 15 people were detained in this connection. Legal action will be taken after verification.”

Meanwhile, police arrested a former student of Rajshahi University (RU) for posting photos and videos of the movement. On Monday, some plainclothes men picked him up from the court station area of the city. Later, police sent him to court in the blast case.

The name of the arrestee is Rashed Rajan. He was preparing for a job after completing his studies from the Urdu department of the university. Rajan was also involved in campus journalism. He worked on Campus Live for five years.
