Kuakata beach in Patuakhali saw a significant influx of tourists on Tuesday, the second day of Eid-ul-Azha, with the number of visitors beginning to increase from the morning.
Many people were enjoying the beach with their loved ones, relishing the natural beauty from beach benches or strolling on the sand hand-in-hand.
Popular tourist spots, including Jhaubagan, Shutki Palli and Gangamati, also experienced a surge in visitors, boosting sales at Kuakata's business establishments.
Muhammad Ali Khalifa, a vendor of beach umbrellas, benches and speedboat rides, noted the increased tourist numbers, expecting even more in the coming week.
Motaleb Sharif, general secretary of the Kuakata Hotel-Motel Owners Association, confirmed a significant number of tourist arrivals and numerous room bookings made over the phone. He said he anticipated more tourists if the weather cooled down.
Rabiul Islam, the Kalapara upazila nirbahi officer and member secretary of the beach management committee, said the local administration was fully prepared to ensure the safety of tourists.
The upazila administration, along with Mahipur police and Tourist Police, was on alert to handle the crowd, he added.
