An aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines has broken down on the runway of Saidpur Airport in Nilphamari.
The incident happened around 8:30am on Tuesday.
It stopped the take off and landing of other aircraft at the airport till 12:30pm.
Faisal Kabir, district manager of Airport Office of Saidpur, said that local technicians at the airport are working to repair the fault of the flight. A group of engineers from Saidpur cantonment also joined them.
According to airport sources, a Bangladesh Biman flight from Dhaka with 60 passengers landed on the airport runway at 8:30am.
At that time, due to a defect in the nose wheel of the aircraft, it broke down on the runway.
Meanwhile, other flights at the airport were suspended from 8:30am till noon as the plane was stuck on the runway.
Saidpur Airport Manager Suplob Kumar Ghosh said, passengers of several flights were stranded at the airport.
However, flight operations resumed at around 12:30pm.
