Three people died by lightning strikes in Chauddagram of Comilla and Chhagalnaiya of Feni on Sunday.
The deceased in Comilla was Anwarul Haque, 28, a labourer. Meanwhile, another labourer named Mojibur Rahman was injured at the same location.
Injured Mojibur Rahman said: "We were working on cultivating land in Lonishwar village. Around noon, the sky became overcast and lightning struck. Anwarul Haque died on the spot."
Locals rescued them and took them to the Chauddagram Upazila Health Complex.
Dr Abul Hasem, the duty doctor of Chauddagram Upazila Health Complex, said two people were taken to the hospital due to lightning strikes. Among them, Anwarul Haque died in the incident.
In Feni, the deceased were Mahadi Hasan, 17, and Shahin Mahmud Ovi, 15.
They died in lightning strikes while returning home with cattle from the field in the afternoon.
Mahtab Uddin Majumdar, a local union parishad member, said after their bodies were found in the field, locals rescued them and took them to Chhagalnaiya and then to Feni Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.
Hasan Imam, officer-in-charge of Chhagalnaiya police station, confirmed the death of the two youths.
