A woman in Bogra has suffered an injury on her neck after a stray bullet fired by unidentified people hit her.
Julekha Khatun, 40, is undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The incident took place when Julekha was on a CNG-powered autorickshaw in Shahjahanpur upazila on Thursday.
She was first taken to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital. An x-ray revealed that there was a bullet in Julekha’s neck.
The victim’s son, Jahid Hasan, has filed a case over the incident with Shahjahanpur police station on Friday.
He said doctors suggested that Julekha undergo an operation within two to three days to remove the bullet from her neck.
Shahidul Islam, inspector (investigation) of Shahjahanpur police station work is underway to identify and arrest those involved in the shooting.
