At present, vehicles of homebound passengers are running over that overpass during Eid.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader inaugurated the overpasses virtually around 11:30am on Saturday.

The length of the newly constructed Mulibari overpass is 39 meters, the length of the Panchlia overpass is 39 meters, the length of the Dadpur overpass is 35 meters and the length of the Datia Bridge is 56 meters through the Sasec-II project funded by the Asian Development Bank.

At the inauguration program, Obaidul Quader said: "The government has brought revolutionary changes in road communication. Therefore, on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the newly constructed overpasses have been opened swiftly so that the people of the northern and southern parts of the country can return home with relief without traffic jam.”

People from 22 districts of northern and southern regions of the country travel through the 22-km highway from Bangabandhu Setu West Gol Chattar to Hatikumrul Gol Chattar.

Around 20,000 vehicles ply through this highway every day.

However, this number increases several times before Eid every year.

Traffic jams occur every year due to excess traffic before and after Eid.

Due to this, the passengers and drivers suffered a lot. Newly constructed overpasses have been opened to avoid this suffering.
