Three Rapid Action Batallion personnel came under attack during an anti-drug raid in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi on Tuesday night, resulting in one of them losing a couple of his fingers.
The attackers also took away Yunus Ali, 40, who is accused in a drugs case, from RAB custody.
Constable Imran Hossain, 35, who lost his fingers, also sustained injuries to his head and was sent to Dhaka for better treatment from Narsingdi Sadar Hospital.
The other two RAB injured RAB members could not be identified immediately.
Narsingdi Additional Superintendent of Police Shamsul Arefin said quoting locals that a team of RAB-1 and RAB-11 conducted a joint anti-narcotics operation in Sonakandi village of Nilakhya union at approximately 8:30pm.
He added that when the team nabbed Yunus Ali, a suspected drug dealer, his relatives and associates attacked RAB members and snatched him away.
Three, including Constable Imran, had been severely injured in the attack, the Additional SP said.
