Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that while the BNP is looking towards their foreign friends to ensure that this government cannot stay in power, Prime Minister Sheikh Haisna does not care about any sanctions or visa policies.

He was speaking after paying tribute to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara in Gopalganj alongside the prime minister and cabinet members on Saturday.

After paying tribute, Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said: “Those who wanted to resist the election have not retreated yet, Awami League will deal with them politically and administratively in the coming days.”

He added that the government aims to implement the election manifesto even though the political opponents are looking at foreign friendship for sanctions.

He added that even in the global crisis, the main goal of the Awami League government will be to implement the declared manifesto.

Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina reached Tungipara by road on Saturday morning with the full cabinet of the 12th National Parliament.

Shortly before 12pm, Hasina paid her respects by placing wreath at the grave of the Father of the Nation.

A smartly turned out contingent drawn from the three services gave a state salute, while bugle played the last post on the occasion.

Flanked by the new cabinet colleagues, Hasina, also the Awami League president, placed another wreath at the altar of the mausoleum.

Sheikh Hasina joined a special munajat and offered fateha seeking eternal peace of Bangabandhu.
