A daylong strike and blockade called by the United People's Democratic Front (UPDF-Prasit Group), protesting the killing of four members in an attack by miscreants on Monday, is underway in Panchari upazila of Khagrachari.
No unexpected incident has so far been reported as of filing this report at 12:40pm.
Movement of intra-district transports on all routes of the upazila and business establishments remain closed due to the blockade being enforced by UPDF.
Panchari police station’s officer-in-charge, Md Shafiul Azam, said law enforcers are vigilant so that no untoward incident can happen during the blockade.
UPDF has also called for a daylong blockade in the entire district tomorrow.
Four activists of UPDF were shot dead by miscreants in ward 9 of Panchari upazila on Monday. The attackers also abducted two UPDF activists at the time, who were later rescued.
