Police on Friday arrested five people over the torching of a truck in Bogra on Wednesday night.
Shibganj Police Station Sub-Inspector Montaj filed a case against 12 BNP-Jamaat activists and a number of unidentified accused on Friday.
According to police, when the truck was travelling from Bogra to Rangpur, three to four masked men stopped the truck at the Rahabal area and hurled petrol bombs at it, setting it on fire.
The driver of the truck, Ariful Islam, 26, suffered burn injuries in the incident and was receiving treatment at a hospital.
Shibganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdur Rouf said till now five named accused have been arrested in the case. After being produced before a magistrate, the court sent them to jail.
Efforts are on to arrest the other accused, he added.
