Internet users in Bangladesh may encounter temporary slowdowns or service interruptions as a result of ongoing maintenance and upgrade work on the nation's primary submarine cable, SEA-ME-WE 4, which is located in Cox's Bazar.
The service disruption is scheduled to take place from 2am to noon on both Tuesday and Thursday, according to an official statement released by Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited (BSCCL) on Sunday.
During these specified times, some circuits connected through the SEA-ME-WE 4 submarine cable will be partially unavailable, potentially causing temporary inconveniences for internet users.
Internet services connected via Bangladesh's second submarine cable, SEA-ME-WE 5, located in Kuakata, will remain unaffected and continue to function normally.
The upgrade project on SEA-ME-WE 4 is expected to bring a significant increase in the bandwidth capacity of BSCCL, offering the promise of improved and more robust internet connectivity once the upgrade is complete.
