Sheikh Rehana Textile Engineering College in Gopalganj marked the 69th birthday of Sheikh Rehana, the youngest daughter of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The celebration was filled with discussions, prayers, and a cake-cutting ceremony, creating a festive atmosphere.
The festivities for Sheikh Rehana's birthday commenced on Wednesday afternoon at Gopalganj Sheikh Rehana Textile Engineering College, with a recitation from the Holy Quran and the reading of Gita.
Following the religious observance, a discussion meeting was organized in the conference room of Sheikh Rehana Textile Engineering College.
The meeting was presided over by the college's principal, Engineer Nayan Chandra Ghosh, and included participation from the college's faculty members, staff, and officials.
The discussion revolved around Sheikh Rehana's life and achievements.
Towards the conclusion of the meeting, prayers were offered. The prayers extended to the souls of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangamata, the martyrs of August 15, and the three million martyrs of the Liberation War, wishing for their eternal peace.
Additionally, well-wishes were extended to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, praying for Sheikh Rehana's good health, success, longevity, and the continued development, progress, and prosperity of the nation.
The celebration concluded with the cutting of a birthday cake, followed by the distribution of sweets and cakes to all participants.
In honour of the 69th birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's younger sister, Sheikh Rehana, Sheikh Rehana Textile Engineering College was adorned in vibrant decorations.
Sheikh Rehana was born on September 13, 1955, at Mitford Hospital in Dhaka. She is the daughter of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib.
