Seven trawlers capsized in the sea estuary due to the storm influence of a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal.
So far, 67 fishermen have been rescued, but six are missing, police said.
The incident happened around 11:30am on Tuesday at the sea estuary on the east side of Hatirchar in Noakhali and in the sea estuary adjacent to Sangu Gas Field, reports UNB.
According to the fishermen, the seven trawlers sank due to strong winds and waves.
Meanwhile, more than 100 trawlers from Monpura, which were fishing in the sea estuary, have taken shelter in Sandwip, Hatia, and Chittagong, according to the owners of the trawlers.
