A case has been filed under the Digital Security Act (DSA) against two journalists including Nazmus Sakib, the editor of “Dainik Fulki” in Savar, Dhaka.

A written complaint was lodged with Savar Model police station on Friday night.

On the same day, the police registered the complaint as a case.

Another accused is Md Emdadul Haque, Savar correspondent of “Amader Natun Somoy”.

Apart from this, some other unknown people have been made accused in the case, filed by Md Shahinur Islam, a resident of Shyampur in Birulia.

Dipak Chandra Saha, officer-in-charge of Savar Model police station, confirmed the matter.

Police are investigating the matter, said the OC.

According to the written complaint, on July 27, a fabricated, baseless, conspiratorial news story using Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's photo was published on the last page of Dainik Fulki. This rumor has been deliberately spread with the connivance of some Jamaat-BNP leaders to tarnish the image and reputation of the country, the state and the prime minister.

Nazmus Sakib said that the prime minister's photo was attached with the news of Cambodia mistakenly. His newspaper also published a rejoinder in this regard on July 28.
