Former mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation and BNP leader Mizanur Rahman Minu has been sued under the Digital Security Act (DSA) for labeling Awami League lawmaker from Rajshahi-4 Enamul Haque as former president of Chhatra Shibir at a television talk show.
Parvez Hossain, a staff officer of Enamul's business institution Ena Group, filed the case on behalf of MP Engineer Enamul Haque, with the Dhaka Cyber Tribunal, on Sunday.
After hearing, Judge AM Julfiker Hayet recorded the statement of the complainant and fixed Monday for passing an order in this regard.
According to the case statement, Minu, on a private TV talk show, called Enamul Haque "former president of Chhatra Shibir" at 1am on Wednesday.
Enamul was never an activist of Chhatra League and Jubo League. Now he is an Awami League MP, said Minu in the talk show. Such false and fabricated remarks had damaged the image of the lawmaker, said the case statement.
