A case has been filed against two youths for allegedly raping a housewife and filming the incident in Bagerhat's Mongla upazila.
The accused are Hasan Shikdar, 26, and Rafiqul, 25, both residents of Mongla Municipality.
Mongla police station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Shamsuddin confirmed that a case was filed in this regard on Sunday night.
The accused individuals are currently on the run, and the police are actively engaged in an operation to apprehend them, he said.
Acoording to the case statement, a woman who was renting a house in the municipal area was forcibly raped on June 28.
The rape survivor, a 36-year-old woman, works as a tailor. She and her husband resided in a rented house and did not have any children.
At the time of the incident, she was alone as her husband had gone to their village home for Eid celebrations. During this time, she was attacked, physically assaulted, restrained, and raped.
She claimed the accused also recorded the incident on their mobile phones. Before leaving, they threatened to share the video on social media if she disclosed the incident to anyone.
