A five-member probe committee has been formed over the derailment of seven coaches of a freight train, which allegedly happened due to excessive heat in Brahmanbaria.
The committee is headed by Dhaka Divisional Transport Officer Khairul Kabir.
The committee has been asked to submit the report within the next three days.
The curved railway line at Brahmanbaria is still not repaired even after over 24 hours.
Hence, even though the train movement on the down line is normal, the train schedule on the up line is delayed.
Rail communication from Chittagong to Dhaka and Sylhet was reestablished after 31 hours. Railway traffic on the upline route returned to normal around 8pm on Friday, according to sources.
The passengers have suffered immensely due to delays in train schedules.
Assistant Divisional Officer of Railways Aminul Islam said that the rescue operation through the relief train would end soon. However, there is a delay in repairing the broken sleeper coach.
He expressed hope that the cause of the accident would be known soon.
On Thursday, The wheels of seven coaches of a freight train were derailed.
The incident took place in Dariyapur area of Brahmanbaria Sadar upazila around 1pm.
