A cocktail explosion occurred in front of a house on the Bhola-Charfashan regional highway of Borhanuddin upazila in Bhola early Wednesday.

In this incident, the organizing secretary of the upazila's Pakshia union Chhatra League, Md Fazle Rabbi, has filed a case under the Explosives Act accusing several BNP leaders and activists by name, confirmed Borhanuddin police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Monir Hossain.

On the other hand, BNP leaders and activists are claiming that this incident is a play arranged by Awami League. Government party leaders created this incident and filed a false case against BNP leaders and activists.

The OC said that BNP leaders and activists threw cocktails targeting at Chhatra League leaders and activists who were leaving from Borhanuddin upazila Awami League office at about 12:30am. Three cocktails exploded on the spot and police recovered two unexploded cocktails.

Pakshia union Chhatra League organizing secretary Md Fazle Rabbi claimed that BNP leaders and activists threw cocktails on them in a pre-planned manner. That's why he filed a case under the Explosives Act against several BNP leaders and activists at Borhanuddin police station.

On the other hand, Borhanuddin town BNP general secretary Md Moniruzzaman Kabir claimed that the government party leaders and activists are blaming BNP for causing sabotage by detonating cocktails. He claimed that the leaders and activists of Chhatra League and Jubo League made the explosions and informed the police themselves.
