Gazipur safari park welcomes 6 baby crocodiles

Six freshwater and ten saltwater crocodiles can be seen in the park right now

A total of six crocodile cubs have hatched from eggs for the first time at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park in Gazipur.

Although the eggs hatched in early December last year, the park authorities informed the media persons on Tuesday. 

The park authorities believe that with the addition of six new crocodiles, tourists would experience a new level of entertainment while visiting. 

According to park sources, crocodiles have been transported to the park's enclosure from different parts of the country since the opening of the safari park.

“There were no hatchlings even after the crocodiles lay eggs. Six freshwater and ten saltwater crocodiles can be seen in the park right now. Six cubs are born after a saltwater crocodile laid eggs in the enclosure,” he added.

Rafiqul Islam, the official in charge of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park, said: “This is the first time a crocodile has given birth at the park since it opened. We hope that the baby crocodiles will help visitors to enjoy the ambiance even more.”
