Police recovered the hanging body of a seventh grader schoolgirl from Shajahanpur in Bogra on Saturday night.
Her family claimed that she committed suicide for not being able to buy the clothes she wanted.
The deceased is Mim Akhter, 14.
According to Mim's father, Abdur Razzak: “A dress appealed to Mim but she couldn't get it because of being short of money. Upset by this, she hanged herself.”
Shajahanpur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Quader Jilani said that the family claimed suicide but to be sure about this, they recovered the body on Saturday night and sent it to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SZMC) Hospital morgue.
The actual cause of her death could be confirmed after receiving the post-mortem report.
