Rail communication on Mymensingh-Mohanganj-Jaria route resumed after three hours of suspension following the derailment of a coach in Balashpur in Mymensingh city on Monday morning.
The train derailed in Balashpur area of the city at around 7:30am, said Mymensingh railway police station officer-in-charge (OC) Mohiuddin Ahmed.
Later at around 10:30am, a salvage train recovered the coach after about 3 hours of effort, he added.
Narayan Prasad Sarkar, an assistant executive engineer of Mymensingh Railway Station said the same compartment of the train derailed “four times” this year.
It is clear that there is a problem with the compartment, he added.
Earlier, the same train derailed in the Balashpur area on December 11 and 17.
Besides, Mymensingh Railway Station Inspector (Traffic) Md Shahinul Islam said the train is booked for repairs at the factory after the derailment on December 17.
