Bogra Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Samar Kumar Paul has been withdrawn for allegedly assaulting a security guard.
Bogra Deputy Commissioner Saiful Islam on Tuesday said Samar Kumar Paul had been transferred to the BRTA office in Dhaka as an executive magistrate.
On the evening of September 22, Samar had some Ansar members bring Alamgir Sheikh, a security guard at the upazila engineer's office, to his office and beat him up.
The district administration ordered a probe into the incident when the matter came to light.
There were also allegations of irregularities against Samar.
He was finally withdrawn in a notification issued by the public administration ministry on Monday.
However, the outgoing UNO denied all allegations brought against him.
