Rail communication between Dhaka and the northern and southern districts of Bangladesh has been restored after twelve and half hours disruption.
The communication halted as a compartment of a freight train derailed in Tangail on Monday night.
The incident was reported at around 10pm at Rajabari Rail Crossing of Kalihati upazila.
Due to train derailment, trains going to different destinations were stuck at different stations. As a result, thousands of passengers suffered immensely.
However, the communication became normal after the derailed compartment was removed from the line around 9am on Tuesday, said Liakat Sharif, additional chief engineer of Bangladesh Railway (west).
Gharinda Railway Station Master Sohel Rana said that the derailed compartment was recovered. At present, train communication is normal.
