A youth was killed and several others were injured in a clash between two groups of Argentina football team supporters in Bhola Sadar upazila late on Tuesday.
The deceased was Ridoy, 20.
According to locals, Argentina supporters on Sunday, when the team were playing Australia in the Round of 16 of the Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022, were eating noodles, which somehow led to an altercation between one Akbar and Ashik.
The two and their followers late on Tuesday attacked each other over the previous squabble, with locally made weapons, leaving several including Ridoy injured.
Ridoy was rushed to an area hospital, where the doctor on duty pronounced him dead upon arrival.
Bhola model police station SI Anis Uddin said the police would take action after autopsy.
Eight others from either side were receiving treatment at Bhola Sadar Hospital, said Resident Medical Officer Dr Naimul Hasnat.
