A primary education officer died of a heart attack while performing his duty as a invigilator in the ongoing HSC exam in Tangail.
The incident took place at Moniruzzaman BM College centre in Alowa union of Tangail on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Shahjamal, primary education officer in Bhuapur upazila.
Moniruzzaman, principal of Moniruzzaman BM College, said: “Education officer Shahjamal and other teachers, along with a doctor, were in the office room when he suddenly felt sick. He poured water on his head but still lost consciousness. Later, he died on the spot. Still, he was quickly taken to the upazila health complex.”
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ishrat Jahan said that Shahjamal died of a heart attack while on duty at the examination centre.
