As many as 11 bodies are yet to be identified from the deadly fire incident at BM Container Depot in Chittagong’s Sitakunda that claimed 49 lives.
Suman Banik, the officer-in-charge (investigation) at the Sitakunda model police station, confirmed the development to Dhaka Tribune on Sunday.
He said the bodies were yet to be identified as the law enforcers had not got the results of DNA tests.
The OC, who is also the investigation officer in the case filed over the fire incident, said that all related laboratory reports were ready but the print copy was yet to reach them.
Furthermore, he said that the investigators were scrutinizing the identities and tracking down the locations of the eight accused in the case.
He mentioned that no one was arrested over the fire incident as the accused went into hiding.
A devastating fire and subsequent blasts at the BM Container Depot at Sitakunda left 49 people dead and over 450 injured on June 4.
At least 13 of the deceased were firefighters.
Following the incident, the privately owned depot partially resumed operations 78 days on August 22.
