Garment worker's dismembered body recovered from 7 locations in Gazipur

Different parts of the body were scattered over an area of around one kilometer

Police recovered seven pieces of the dismembered body of a young garment worker in Kaliganj of Gazipur on Saturday. 

The pieces of the body were left scattered over an area of about one kilometer in Panjora village of Kaliganj's Nagari union.

The deceased is identified as Sabuj Bernard Ghoshal, 31.Sabuj used to work as a quality checker (QC) in Purbachal Apparels Limited garment factory in the neighboring village of Panjora.

Chhanwar Hossain, additional superintendent of police in Gazipur, said acting on a tip-off, the police went to the spot at 11:30am and recovered the body first part of the body from the waist to the knee, two severed hands without fingers and a pair of jeans.

Later, police recovered the head, severed from the waist to the neck and two pieces of one leg cut off from different places. However, part of the other leg was not found until 7:30 pm. 

Police are still carrying out search operation to recover the remains of the body.

Meanwhile, Sabuj's relatives identified the body after receiving information about the recovery of body parts. 

On Thursday, Sabuj's father Amulya Bernard Ghoshal filed a general diary (GD) at the Kaliganj police station after failing to locate his son.

Sabuj's wife is likely to give birth to their first child next month.
